Why is it snowing in April (uk)? & what effects will it have?

Its not normal to snow in April in the UK, will it have an effect on wildlife & the enviroment?

Its coming down really heavy where i am in the Midlands.

  1. I'm still waiting for spring to spring up here in Oregon. We had snow here at the beach at the end of March. Never seen snow that late.


  2. It is here too, I can remember it snowing in April before this though, a few times. I guess the wildlife will cope, and the flowers will be ok, it is strange though isn't it?!

  4. It has snowed in April before, later than this. Sometimes the weather cycles go a bit awry but there are no adverse affects

  8. I live in Scotland believe me it can snow in any month of the year even July.

  9. im sure its happened before but i do worry that the things that have started to sprout and grow will be damaged such as crops.

    i think pepel just have to realise that the seasons are changing and we have to adapt just like many species have done in the past.

    adaptation is the key to survival!!!!

  10. No effect, i once played cricket on the last week of may and it snowed, around 1968 from memory...we are still here

  12. Seen it all before, about 30 years ago we had a heavy snowfall in the middle of May  in the N.W.

  13. It's normal trust me, my mum is sixty next week and insists that when she was wee she played in the snow on her birthday a few times.

    Ankle deep snow not just a sprinkling.
