Don't actually answer this question with "Because the sun is... or whatever. And no one say global warming, that's getting annoying.

  2. well, as the ice is melting the natural pattren of the water coming to or near vancuver is disturbed and insted of bringing cold water/air it is bringing hot water/air. anyway how hot can it get? try living in california

  5. A ridge of high pressure has been pumping hot air from the Desert Southwest of the U.S. The jet stream has lifted to the NWT/Yukon border in Western Canada, which is why all areas in southern Canada between Victoria and Winnipeg are experiencing the first real heatwave of the season.

    Nature always balances things out. There is a trough (low pressure) aloft over Ontario and Quebec, pumping cool Arctic air down there. Check out the weather in Toronto. It's cool, relatively speaking.
