Nature is go'n her course. Media is sensationalizing  your current weather as a once-in-a- 100 billion year event only to grab your attention and hold it. The whole idea that 100 year record keeping is the last word is absurd. Many weather models are obsolete before they hit the shelves to this very hour! Go with what is happening and trust more of your neighbors longstanding records.

for reasons not fully understood by scientists we are in an unusually strong El Nina effect...

this means the ocean is causing abnormally large amounts of cool air to circulate over the northern hemisphere...

this effect should last five to ten years.. and will mask any global warming that may/is occurring...
