  1. I have lived in 4 states now...currently live in PA and all I have to say is that PA is a money grubbing state all around!

Just wait if you end up living here, they conveniently have extra taxes to be paid each year...which I never heard of in 3 other states. They have a "privliedge" to work here tax each year you have to pay 50 some bucks. I laughed when I heard that because I seriously thought it was a big joke when they told me. I thought they were trying to pull a fast one. I could go on and on, but anyhow yeah it is just a money grubbing state.

  2. Florida is a vacation destination, and there are a lot of rental companies competing for the business. More competition means lower prices!

Cars rented in Florida are mostly used as vacation transportation, driven to a beach or attraction and parked most of the day, meaning that the average mileage driven is less. Although the rental company may not charge for mileage, they still have to take the average into account when setting rates.

Another factor is the loss ratio. Cars in an urban area are more likely to be damaged, or stolen. Cars in vacation areas (less traffic) have less chance of damage.

  3. Population? Travel? Demand?
