Why is it so hard for a convicted felon to find a job?

I was convicted on a felony charge of possession of meth about 3 years ago...I'm having such a hard time finding a job...all I wanna do is get a decent job but my past is haunting me...what do I have to do to fix my life

  1. You have to put in your time at a crappy job. It's like being 17 again. You're starting from nothing. Good luck.


  2. find a small company that needs someone, a company that does not ask for references or do criminal record checks.  

  3. BECAUSE YOU WERE ARRESTED FOR METH POSSESSION!

    Put yourself in the employer's shoes; if you had 2 applicants with equal qualifications, and one had been convicted of possession of meth and the other had no record, who would you pick?

    You need to take some time, and really write a good mini-essay along with your resume or application, explaining the circumstances and the changes you've made since then.
