  1. FEAR!!! Many people are afraid of opening up,& being criticized,so they say nothing or what they feel is expected.

  2. maybe because they don't want to hurt people's feelings.

  3. I think it's bc lots of people have been hurt in the past and may have been honest in past relationships but didn't get the reaction they expected.  I've always been honest to my bf even thought he might not like it.  I want him to know that I'm being 100% honest.

  4. I think most of the questions on here could be answered with one of 3 answers.

    1. talk to your spouse

    2. Shame on you!

    3. this is imagination talking.

  5. A lot of people think that talking means you're communicating....and that's not true.

Communicating is talking, listening and UNDERSTANDING what the other person is saying.

So first they need to learn how to communicate....then they can be honest.

  6. Because most people don't want to hurt each other feeling.  Some people are just really honest.

  7. i think some people just don't like confutation. The honest like lying part I think has alot to do with just not wanting to let the other person down..

  8. I think the only way for a relationship to work is through communication.  Whether it is what you want to hear or not, you need to know and understand each other completely for the relationship to prosper.  If something is bothering, why carry an attitude about it?  Why not just lay your cards on the table and speak your mind.  The both of you will feel better and benefit from it in the long run.

  9. I think people's insecurities create dishonesty. It's too bad, but not likley to change without both partners recognizing their own faults. I think its always better to be honest, if not brutally honest...gets it all "out there" on the table and from there you can deal.
