Because of their racism, thinking that Mexico is a very poor place. It is poor, of course, but they are not considering that the polleros, that have a business going on all year long, charge 2500 dlls to cross a person. If they cross 4 persons a month, they can afford to to have fun in the red zones in all the border cities.

The high end places have not only Americans, but Hungarians, Brazilians, Colombians. And there is a market for Americans that cross the border, that have dollars.

Also they don't remember that being a hooker is not allowed in California, Texas, AZ and New Mexico, and if these women were to work in their own states would be jailed and they will either loose custody of their children or visitation rights. Being able to work freely and protected by the laws is also an incentive.

    It would be strange to go and do your thing, in a place where you will get less money. All things being equal, even mixed up, and desperate people prefer to get more money.

     But I suppose there are people who will do almost any foolish thing.
