From a Guy`s perspective I find it so hard to hold in tears over a sad event or a emotional song or movie. I am not g*y, I am 100% percent straight, I just get sensitive over things like that. I was watching the finale of this show I use to watch-Passions and it was just so sad seeing the show end. I have watched that show for about 6 years and to see it end really made me bawl. Why is it so hard for us humans to fight back tears? even when you don`t want to cry because you might feel like a idiot but tears just flow. Why can`t we just hold it in? I need serious answers please.

  1. You cry because you are a normal human person. Why would you hold back your tears in the first place? because of "macho-mentality" of men?

  2. There is no right answer. The truth feels to me that you are processing an emotional tie within yourself. Tears can be shed for sadness, pain, happiness and a million other reasons.

As for the show reference,  it could possibly just be the 'end' of a six year period in your life. No reasons particularly other than the 'loss' of that time/experience.

We can't hold it in because it is meant to come out! By holding it in, you are risking stress to yourself and you are not being true to Yourself. Allow those feelings to surface, process them, honor them and then release. It truly is a beautiful experience.

  3. Some would say it would be an imbalance of chemical reactions to certain stimuli of the senses..others might say that some occurrences affect people differently from certain environments or past experiences that may or may not be known or even understood at the time.  Sometimes...its just human.  Whether its your personality to express more through involuntary emotions, or sensitivity to certain images or events that cause someone to react in a different way...everyone can express their emotions in many different ways...crying is only one of them.

Holding it in is only a reaction to feeling awkward or confused about these expressions...but heck, if its going to happen, might as well let the floodgates open...it might even help better understand what causes them, and even more, how to control them.

    I hope this helps.
