Why is it so hard to find a decent flat to rent in torquay

ive worked all my life and now in a new mum im on benifits and to find nice accomadation is ridiculios im tidy clean reliable will be going back to work as soon as shes one years old poeple asume the worst why is it so hard for good people to get the help they need??

  1. Well, for starters, Torquay is a VERY popular place and attracts all kinds of people, especially professionals. This means landlords have a choice in the market. Why choose a single mother with a child (high risk), when you can choose a young professional with a good career (low risk) who may even be able to afford more? Anyone on benefits is a  statistical risk to a landlord, as it is common knowledge that people on benefits are more likely to experience problems and not pay the rent.


  2. Most landlords in Tor bay, don't want the unemployed.  Or when you are working the wages are so low that you can't get a decent accommodation.
