  1. It's a very tough job market right now especially in retail/marketing, etc so don't get too discouraged. Just make sure you check out all of the websites, keep applying and use any contacts that you may have to get your foot in the door.

Also, if you are not getting calls for interviews, your resume may need some improvement and updating. So get someone who is experienced and can help you-- you might be able to start getting some calls just from making a few changes!

Oh, and don't fall for any of those "work from home" answers that promise you lots of money for doing little... they don't work and will just end up trying to get you to pay to do whatever they are trying to get you to do.

  2. Don't give up, it took me 6 months to find something I liked.

My credit suffered but I'm still alive

try careerbuilder.com and monster.com make your resume public.

    you'll get many calls

  3. Make sure you are following up interviews with "thank you" notes.

Be willing to do more (weekend, nights, etc.) and make sure they know it.

    Keep applying everyplace you see.

Go for jobs in other related areas like grocery stores, restaurants.

Go back to school - give yourself more options.

  4. The economy is really really low right now. I graduated from college back in May, started applying for jobs in January, and still don't have a job. I'm very well qualified for all of the positions I have applied for (I have multiple honors and graduated with a 3.8 GPA) but I haven't had many call backs. Give it some time. I know it sucks. My credit card suffered for a long time.
