Why is it so hard to find an EIDE notebook HD that is 250gb+ that is not western digital. Or any at 7200rpm instead of 5400rpm???????

Why are these HD so rare? And please do not say newegg cause I'm looking for something better than the 5400rpm 250gb HD from WD.

If you know where please let me know.

  1. Because EIDE is obsolete, replaced by SATA.

250gb+ ,  7200rpm , on EIDE ? you have more chance to witness the second coming of the crucified jew.

  2. The short answer is: Because there is nothing better.  And newegg.com has 2 drives, 250gb at 7200 rpm.

Here are 2 a WD and Samsung, both 250gb and 7200 rpm.

Also, you have to remember, the more harddrive space and faster rpms mean more power and heat issues...so not a lot of mfgs want to go that "high" end...
