I am getting frustrated because I can't find some good makeup. I have light skin and every foundation seems to turn me orange. Also there are SO many products to choose from and they are expensive and I just can't seem to find anything that works for me. I want to just give up on makeup. Anyone have any suggestions for me besides buying expensive department store makeup?? Thanks!!

  1. I would suggest going to a department store and getting your face done up by the artist for a brand you like.  Then ask for free samples so you can try it yourself at home.  Bring the samples to the drugstore and match the shade.  Also if you go to CVS they sometimes offer free consultations and will try diff. shades on you and all the makeup is returnable even if you use it, just keep your receipt.  Always make sure you look at your skin under sunlight as well as the store lights to be sure the shade is correct.  I personally have very pale skin as well and have never had any luck with any makeup at drugstores.  I now buy Chanel foundation ($60) but it is very worth it.  I only need a tiny dab to create a flawless face and the product is really so much better Ifeeling than any found at the drugstore.

I hope this helps and I feel your pain!!!

  3. i have tan skin but with a yellow under tone and its very hard finding foundation dat doesnt have a orange tone to it  .I've tried alot of different foundations but Covergirl's TRUblend is my fave foundation it doesnt have weird undertones and its easy to match

  4. Before you give up, check out Sephora. Ask the people working there to find a foundation that works for you. You can also request what kind of coverage you want (light, medium, heavy.) You can try on different shades in the store. Or, just try a tinted moisturizer. It lends some coverage, but you don't have to find the perfect match. Here is a great one (although it's kind of a splurge, it's worth it) http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jh... However, if you don't want to spend as much, drugstore brand tinted moisturizers, like Neutrogena, are fine, too. Wear a soft pink blush http://www.covergirl.com/products/produc... in Natural Rose, brown mascara http://maybelline.com/Product/Eye/Mascar... in Brownish Black or Dark Brown, and pastel eyeshadows http://www.covergirl.com/products/produc... in Mauveberry or Champagne so you don't look severe. Or, go with no makeup if you can pull it off!
