  1. For the record 'mistress' is an older title for women. The abbreviation 'Mrs.' (sometimes spelled 'missus', pronounced roughly the same as 'misses') is derived from it. The Spanish equivalent is 'señora' or 'dueña'. It was also used to refer to teachers, the equivalent of 'maestra' or 'professora'.

Mistress also has another meaning, more common today: a woman who has an ongoing sexual relationship with a married man. 'Querida' or 'concubina'.

  2. English is a hard language to learn, yes. I've grown up with other languages, but soon English became one of it. I'm a natural English speaker, but I wouldn't say it's not hard to start off with. I would recommend 'Inglés Before You Know It' by Transparent Language. It's a flashcard program for Spanish speakers. You can also add your own phrases to practise with. It's a very good program, and it might be easy at the start, but it will get harder, I think. The only con is that it doesn't give you long contexts, so it's just a program for practice, I guess. I haven't used the program, but I've heard that it's quite a good one. Also, read some books in English, it's a really good way to improve your English.

Tingpa is right, I agree with him. It is possible to have perfect English but to have perfect English in an easier way, you would have to live in an English speaking country. Australia is a really good place to start with, that I agree with him too, because Australian English is easy to understand, unlike some other English speaking countries. However, I do believe in trying really hard, and you sound like you're trying very hard. So, I say keep trying.

Well, good luck and have fun! Hope this helped!

Here are some sites, they are kind of easy, but it's good practice, I guess.

  3. The only way you can break that barrier in your language learning is to go and live in a country where the majority speaks English. I would recommend Australia. It will definitely help you in your language learning.
