Why is it so hard to move on from failed relationship and friendships you been in?

I been dating this guy name Josh on and off since 1999.We break up and always get back together.How do I stop calling him all together.

I been friends with this girl name Alison for 3 years.We used to be best friends and pen-pals and I called her on the phone and she called me on the phone as well.We had a fight back on June 30 and she and I have not been friends even since then.How do I give up on her and move on with my life.

just quit talking to him and hang out with other guys your age so you won't feel lonely and i had a friend  for five years and we fought all the time so i stopped talking to her and i went to talk to some of my other friends and i got over my friend pretty quick

Sorry your having a rough time. As for Josh sounds like the two of you still love each other. Sometimes it can be hard to move on. But sounds like you both need to. When ever you feel like picking up the phone to call Josh call one of your friends. It will get easier in time. A good book to read is.  It's called a break-up because it's broken. I'm not sure who the book is by, sorry. It's a great book and it helped me a great deal.   Ok as for your friend if you want to mend this friendship call her. You have given her time. If your the one who messed up you need to apologize. If she is the one who messed up tell her how she hurt you.  Good Luck

This is for Allison: You have not got "complete" with her. This meaning you have not cleaned up your mess. There is something left to say. It may be big or it may be you just want to say good-bye. Get into action and be in communication with her. Let her know what a jerk you were to start a fight (doesn't matter who started it)You may find she is excited to hear from you and wondered what happened to you.

The above is for Josh too. You will have to decipher my suggestion to fit the situation but it may be the same.

When you do all the above it is easier to move on. Takes a little growing up however. Are you ready to play grown-up?
