Why is it so trendy to use Blacks in advertising?

I'm Asian and I don't see the same outreach for my race despite the fact that we're just as populous in the USA.

The real question is WHO is promoting them....or is this some movement that comes along every decade or so.  Answer that question and you'll probably have your answer.  

The REAL answer is probably benign in that it's just an outreach to a certain group.  The other races won't complain (either) because of PC repercussions.

So much of their culture fosters urban lifestyles and trends.  Music, athletics, styles, etc.

Plus every white person knows that black people are the ****.

it just so happens that there are more blacks in the acting industry then there are asians. if your paying attention to race that much then you should consider making a change for your community.

No offense but your country is good, and when I went to China I saw nothing but asians on tv. But blacks had to do alot just to be on tv and fight for equal rights and here you guys just came here ON PURPOSE and you want a load of asians on tv? But what channel are you watching?? I never seen a lot of blacks on tv...I watched friends and saw one black once on that show and runways are just white females....what channel you got?

But I will admit things are much better but a few things need to be worked on. But am sorry you guys just got here and already.................

I can't even tell you what part of African am from like you guys so give us a break!!! I traced my family tree so back I got to Germany....amazing for the whole family, but just watch asian channels.

Yes but with only a few exceptions your race was not enslaved in America and has not the same entitlement to fair recourse.

It depends on the situation or what their advertising.

If it deals with hispanic it will use a hispanic person

If it deals with african american it will use an african american!!

Black Americans collectively have a lot of purchasing power, 892 billion to be exact.  Despite the negative media images about our community, most Black Americans live in the suburbs, own businesses, and have great careers.  We are financially well off, and thus able to purchase a lot.  This is why a lot of advertisments are geared towards Black Americans.

Blacks are people too. Blacks are trend setters. Maybe if you set a trend or invent a new style then maybe you would be in more commercials.

Now that the Olympics are on, I saw this cool commercial with LeBron James and Yao or is it Yow (I know I probably spelled Yao wrong). The commercial showed strength within each the US and Chinese cultures. Unity is a beautiful thing. Isn't it?
