Why is it so windy?

Question

Good Gracias- It is The middle of May- why is the wind blowing like it does in March or during the winter. It blew a huge branch off of one of my trees today! This is crazy!!!

By the way- I live in Western North Carolina.

I know the eastern part of our state has tornado watches out today!

Anyway, I like the wind. It's windy here today too (I live nowhere near you though).. but it's sunny and windy, which is the best.

I live in illinois. 40 mph winds here! I belive because of climate change and the cold front advancing.

There is a strong low pressure system that is moving over the eastern part of the United States.  The strong pressure gradient around this low pressure area is generating strong surface winds.

I live just outside of London, UK, and the weather is really beautiful today, and has been for most of the week.  Making the most of it; we'll probably get your high winds, gales, tornados, and God Knows What, next week!  Knowing the typical British weather, we'll probably have a snow storm or something ridiculous!

Wow, sounds like the east is having all sorts of crazy weather. Its a beautiful sunny day here in California, not to mention humid and hot. I absolutely despise the wind, be safe over there!
