Why is it some people can eat all they want ?

why is it some people can eat all they want and never get fat, and others have to follow a strict diet so they don`t get fat. My best mate eats like a dustbin and has a lovely figure and yet i have to work hard to keep what i have.

  1. it could be because they have a faster metabolism..so theyll burn calories more quickly

  3. You've just described my boy friend.  He's 6'2, tall and skinny and he can eat and eat.  Me, I just look at food and put weight on.  UGH!

    It's the rate at which your body burns calories. Some burn calories faster than others, which is why they weigh less.

  5. I love to eat and in the past few years I've put on fat that I can't get rid of. I weigh right now what I weighed in high school but somehow I wear a bigger size. Go figure! I have a little tummy fat that I loath and I realized it's genetics, my Mom has it and now my younger sister does too. I alwasy assumed my Mom got it from having 2 kids, I used to call it the "Mom Pouch" and you see it on older Moms all the time. Now I'm getting one and I am baby-free. I starved myself, I dieted, I exercized, I reached the point that freinds would greet me with, "Is everything OKAY???" and still had belly fat. *sigh*

    My theory on this is that God hates me. People seem to think this theory is wrong :)

  6. Well Maybe it's just because your body is used to being fat (no offense), and the glands in your stomach absorb fat the moment it enters your system, so you gain weight quickly, even when dieting.

    it's genetic for the most part.

    that's why some people take diet pills.  these pills essentially increase your heart rate and trick your body into increasing your metabolic rate... at least for 4 hours or so. not a healthy idea, by the way.

  10. Grapefruit is supposed help increase metabolism, as is eating small meals throughout the day. Be sure not to skip breakfast.
