Question:

Why is it some people think NATHAN BUCKLEY should retire ?

I wonder why some people dont "think", to take just a little 'Peek', outside the SQUARE. Last year Collingwood "rested" Buckley in a game in Perth, saying it would occur more often . Now, what a great ploy !.... this year they rest him given his age 35, for 10 -12 games then bring him back for the last half and finals.. The same could be said for James Clement, and then of course, Adelaide could be doing the same with Mark Ricciuto.? Collingwood at the begiining of R10 are 2nd, Adelaide 4th, and with Bucks and the Roo both Brownlow Medalist's and given their clubs current position's, please dont tell me they wont benefit and have more to gain with these players back, and out on the Park.

  1. I think that people think this because he is old and getting a bit seasoned. The same has happened to Robert Harvey and look how hes playing, like a little legend. I'm sure they would gain heaps out of having their star players back like Buckley and co. but getting to the age of 30+ your legs start to get tired and they wont be able to run out a whole season, thus having breaks throughout the season to keep them in good condition for the later half of the year. I dont think he should retire just yet but sadly a great player like nathan is coming to a end soon. :(

  2. Now Nathan Buckley is in his 30's and around that age they start to get some injuries and aren't as mobile and agile has they would be when they are lets say 20. Nathan Buckley's hamstring has been killing him throughout his whole career. Maybe he should retire?

  3. To start with your team is 4th not second thats the cats and he's not out there playing because he is injuried which will come with age, because if he could play he would be out there playing, but i think some guys just dont know when to retire when there body has ha denough and other guys just retire to early before there in the best years of they playing career and do them selves out of a good career because its to hard.

  4. deedubya we all know you are one eyed about the pies but fairdinkum mate the bloke is 36 and struggling to even get on the ground, and when he does come back if at all he'll last about 5 minutes before something else goes wrong on his old body-NONE OF US CAN BEAT FATHER TIME.how is he a benefit to your side all it will do is un-settle a side that is going ok this year and is giving the young kids the experience they need.

  5. because he plays for the pies, but in fact hes a champ

  6. Because every time he plays, he does a hammy! He is taking up valuable space on their list, not to mention their salary cap. The Pies are doing quite well without him. yes he is a great player, but you especially, as a pies fan, should know that he needs to retire.
