  1. well i know some teams that have kept starters in longer than they should have to win the game.

  2. Haha. Because some teams are better than others

  3. all the bad teams think preseason is important for some odd reason why all the good teams just put in half the effort and sit and wait for the regular season to start.

  4. Because the pre-season doesn't matter, the starters hardly play at all.  Teams don't run a full playbook, either, so the other teams can't get a good read on their offensive/defensive schemes.

  5. Simple, the pre-season is to test your new players, your rookies, your free agents, second and third-stringers, etc.  Starters typically play few plays, if any.  The Patriots played the Ravens in their first pre-season game yesterday, Tom Brady, Randy Moss, Wes Welker didn't play.  No team expects to play the Patriots during the regular season without seeing these guys on the field?

  6. Maybe they keep their starters in too long or something. The good teams barely play their starters. For instance last night Jets vs. Browns, the browns only kept their starters in for one drive. While the Jets kept theirs in after the storm delay. It all depends on the coach. If you really want to any team could go undefeated during preseason.

Only the first couple of drives or first quarter matter.
