Why is it taking me longer than normal to get a tan? What's the problem?

In the past summers, I could lay out almost everyday and in a week or two I'd have the perfect tan. But this summer is different for some reason. I've been laying out after swimming like everyday all summer, I have really good tan lines, but the thing is, I just don't even look tan! Even my mom has a darker tan than I do and she rarely goes out and tan! I can really see the whiteness where the lines are but I just don't look like I'm that tan. I use Hawaiin Tropic Dry Tanning Oil with a spf of 12. Here's a pic from today and I look a lot darker here than I do in real life. http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z107/smashedxtopieces/tanline1.jpg

  1. because the sun hates you.

    he's not alone. :)

  2. haha i know exactly what you're talking about!!!

my whole family is naturally darker than me, and when they go in the sun even for like half an hour they get so tan!

i lay out everyday for hourss and use banana boat tanning oil and i really dont get VISIBLY tan. when i move my bikini i see a major difference between my butt and my upper thigh, but i feel like thats the only part that gets really tan on my legs. and even if i do feel tan it goes away after a couple hours!!

when i was younger i used to be in the pool for an hour at like 4 o clock and i used to get SO dark! maybe the sun got weaker??

if you have any clue for the REAL reason lemme knowww!
