Why is it taking paypal two weeks to clear one order?

I ordered from a Japanese website on the 27th, and my expected clearing date is October 9th. Why?! Everybody I've talked to and even paypal FAQ says that it should only take 3-7 days. I thought it might just be because it's from Japan, but I've also known people to say that paypal only took them a week to clear an order from a Japanese website.

I emailed them twice in the past week, no response. My last order from Japan took two weeks to clear as well, and it almost got cancelled. Why is this taking so long for me??

If you're Paypal account is withdrawing money from your bank account to pay for your purchase (and not thru a credit card), it's probably your bank that's holding up the transfer. Banks are having alot of trouble transferring money these days, I don't know why. There's really nothing you can do about it accept next time, pay with a credit card.

Even if you don't have a credit charge card, you can get faster service with a Paypal Mastercard (a debit card that withdraws money from your bank account the same way, accept that it clears faster, for the purposes of the vendor, because the transaction is between the vendor and the mastercard network) or a prepaid Visa (which you can get at walmart).

It does not matter where you are buying the product from. The latency on bank transaction should be around 3-4 business days in the US. If it has taken a significant lapse of time there is something wrong with debiting your bank account.
