  1. Because unlike previous wars the aggressors don't wear uniforms, they wear civilian clothes so that they are difficult to detect. Also, as with some of the Middle Eastern fanatics they hide and launch their attacks from within ares populated by women and children making it very difficult to attack them without hurting so called innocents who  in any event generally support them. They then have the cheek to seek adverse publicity for the uniformed armies whenever a child or woman is killed or injured.

Also blame the media for furthering this publicity. I know what we would have done with UK media individuals who visited Germany during Hitler's war.

  2. We are not trying to gain land or oust an enemy from it, we are fighting a philosophy and way of life, just like the Cold War, it will take a few generations to win.

  3. The Taliban is in there own country do you think you are any

body knows the country more than the people that owned the place?? and do you think that they are fighting with there 2 hands tied behind there back???. Don't be stupid. Or may be

you do think they are children, little school children. Don't be Sile!. Foreigners have sense just as us aren't they????. Bush &

Chanie had say that it would take three months and the men

would be back home. He had also say the Mission were accomplished foure yrs. ago did'nt he.?? and has it.??

  4. Five years to defeat them. Now you must bear in mind that the US Government funded The Taliban from (at the very earliest) 1980, at the start of the invasion by the former Soviet Union (it was in fact 1979), up until probably 1988. That is a lot of military hardware to expend. Instead of asking questions on YA, why not ask the same questions from your Politicians?

  5. There are lots of reasons really:

The Taleban are fighting a guerilla war in a landscape practically built for that kind of fighting. Plus it is practically impossible to stop roadside bombs and suicide bombs. They were trained very well in guerilla warfare by the CIA in the 80's.

Afghanistan is like a beacon for every radical muslim with a grudge against the west. In most documentaries about it I have seen Afgans say that the majority of the Tallis are from Saudi and Pakistan. There are very few Afghans who want the Taleban back in power.

Money, the Taliban are very well funded and supplied by Saudi oil money. If we could stop them from buying guns this would go a long way to stopping the war.

Propoganda, the Talibs have a very well oiled PR machine which makes the war seem attractive and romantic despite the fact that they take grievous casualties in nearly every direct action against conventional forces.

Finally we are fighting a war against an ideology which is stirred up in religious schools around the world. We need to stop this before the war will ever end.

I believe that the Taliban are losing the war as popular feeling in Afghan is starting to swing against them (they really want peace and reconstruction.) But it could take years yet to properly resolve the conflict.

  6. We will never defeat them.  They are more determined than we are and they are willing to die for what they believe and they have a history of fighting until they free their land of foreigners.  Don't you remember that they fought the Russians for over 20 years and finally ruined their economy  and defeated them before we stupid Americans took up where they left off.

  7. First I do not think you can defeat a religious group that believe in their goal.

Invading a nation that had nothing to do with the "taleban", sure as h**l is not going to make it any easier now is it?

  8. they're maybe recruiting. also, they are hiding. and we're just making this fight more surely that we don't have to much soldier to be dead and explosives to be used. you know, war is not that fast to be ended you'll need tactics every assault.
