Why is it taking so long to get paid?

i started my job aug 4th the pay period ended aug 6th (wends) my boss said id get a 1 day check since i have $35 being deducted for a headset my next check wont be til sept 6th? is that right if so that means im working 5 weeks before getting a paycheck thats over $20....

If you are getting paid every 2 weeks but you start right at the end of a pay period then you have to wait around 4 weeks to get paid because the paychecks might be for 2 weeks prior to the date the check is issued. Just make sure the dates and pay amounts are correct.  Some companies just have a pay delay that is longer because it takes them a while to process paychecks.
