  1. well its all down to the media and advertising and publicity....yes it stinks...its unfair..but the public support this **** so it sells and makes money...for fat cats....so footballers are in turn robots....who are controlled by the media in what they do what they say....and in general will pobably end up living a high profile life that may be turbulent...The chances are you are a happier person...better personality and will have better life experience....yeah sure they get the big cars....big houses holidays in the sun......so what ...they are probably miserable....cant trust anyone....I would not envy them....

  2. If you're unhappy with your job, quit.  When you care for me, I'll start to care about you.

  3. The government doesn't pay footballers wages though, it's very nice of you to be a carer but you need to be realistic. There are loads of different jobs that pay more than minimum wage so why single out footballers?

Footballers do earn obscene amounts of money every week but they are payed by their clubs who can do as they please. Kicking a ball around a field might not mean anything to you but it means a h**l of a lot to the millions of fans who watch it every week.

I think you deserve a better wage, as do teachers and nurses. It has nothing to do with football though.

  4. Oh but don't you know, being able to warble a tune or kick a ball around a field is SO much more important than caring for sick and elderly! (I'm being sarcastic of course!)

I guess its just Captalism for you - people get paid depending on how much money they make for the fatcats at the top and caring for the sick and elderly doesn't make the businessmen richer, playing football for Man United does.

I agree its a disgusting state of affairs.  Carers do a sterling job and deserve to be paid far more than useless ball-chasers and pop warblers who don't really do anything other than make rich people richer.

This is one of the things about Capitalism which is just very wrong.

  5. The simple fact is that you don't generate millions for your employer by doing your job. Professional athletes generate a lot more revenue than they are paid. If they didn't, their employers, being business professionals, wouldn't pay those high salaries.

  6. So if you'd rather play football for millions, try out for a team!!  The  government has nothing to do with it!!!

  7. That's price of fame - and the number of different pots our taxes have to be split between.  You want to double all the carers wages - what other pot do you suggest we take it from?  NHS, education, roads, policing, pensions, etc?

Not saying it's right, but I can't afford more taxes, thanks.

  8. as long as the fans are willing to pay for it,this is OK with me. I myself refuse to pay for any of that stuff.

  9. I'm not that left wing; but in a nutshell it is because jobs considered manly or "macho" still get paid more than supposedly feminine jobs like looking after people. (Apart from doctors - their fillip is because of residual class issues attributed to their role).

  10. It has nothing to do with Government and everything to do with free enterprise.
