Why is it that atheists as well as some protestants seem to have a need to attack the Catholic church? From what I have seen most practicing Catholics stand up for protestants when being attacked by atheists and won't hound atheist till they believe as Christians do.

  1. I don't care what your religion is.  If it pushes itself into the public sector (violating the First Amendment) I will attack it.

  2. In this day and age, outside of s*x and reproduction and the Irish troubles, the Catholic Church is the most advanced and reasonable of all the world's religions.  But it too is wrong about the fundamental issue, for, you see, there is no god.

  3. Catholicism is false and leads to eternal h**l, since it teaches a false gospel of works (Galatians 1:6-9).  That's infinitely sufficient grounds to expose the catholic cult as false and eternally dangerous.

  4. No one wants to attack another religion. We all need to agree on what God says in his word. No religion will have all of its members in heaven. There are people in every religion who do not believe in God nor have faith in him and serve him as God says.

  5. Attack the catholic church? Just because people ridicule the catholic church does not mean that they are attacking it. I certainly have nothing against your believing in an imaginary fairy friend. That is what separates atheists from religionists. Atheists don't mind that religionists believe in fairies.

  6. I think because people who don't believe in God think that everyone who does is believing in something that hasn't been proven are stupid or unintelligent, I'm sorry to hear this as I myself do not believe in God but have nothing but the deepest respect for those that do, having faith like that is not an easy thing to do and I think it's very admirable that you do.

  7. Maybe it's because catholicism is so farcical that even other christians can see it.

  8. I'm an atheist, and the majority of Christians I've grown up with have been Catholic.  They've been some of the nicest and most open-minded people I know.  As far as Christians go, It's Catholics that seem the most laid-back to me personally.

It's not Catholics that have Jesus Camps where all the impressionable children gather around a cardboard cut-out of George W. Bush like it's a golden cow, thanking Jesus for him while crying their eyes out.

  9. Just leave those poor, peaceful Catholics alone.

Oh...wait, poor and peaceful may be a poor choice of words.

  10. Sorry, which atheists attack the catholic church?? From what I have seen, Catholics are pretty well accepting of atheism, its the born again protestants we really want to get rid of, because THEY are the people who are trying to put us in concentration camps for refusing to believe their c**p

EDIT: By the way, my grandkids  all go to catholic school. The education is better, and they don't have to worry about being bullied by the kids of the 'other' religion like they do in public school

  11. True Christians (no matter their religion) should stand up for each other.  After all, we are brothers and sisters in Christ.

  12. Agreed. I say that the church needs to get along here...since they will be spending eternity together. As for atheists, it's not just Catholics they pick on. It is anyone who believes. That's what this forum is for, though...so I welcome them here.

  13. Equal opportunity education.  Catholics deserve to be saved from false salvation just as every other "soul" does.

  14. I'm a Catholic. To be fair, I've seen a number of atheists on this site defend Catholics, particularly against certain Fundamentalists who repeatedly make false claims against Catholicism. They've openly refuted Chick tracts and their anti-Catholic bias. I've also seen them say positive things about Catholic education. Not all atheists attack Catholics. I'm a Catholic who has many atheist friends.

  15. I like catholics. They are reasonable about evolution

Some may attack the status quo for a reason.  Can you fathom THAT?

  16. RAWRRRR

    *Attack*

  17. because we all HATE catholics!

By the way, the pope is a SISSY!

    Also, Protestants do it more.
