I recently left the military and am currenly enrolled in a massage therapy school locally. I was told up to this point that I would be able to get unemployment and am now being that they are denying me. I got an honorable discharge from the military after serving for 5 years. They are claiming that since I cant job search 24hrs a day I am ineligable. However school only takes four hrs a day. Im not trying to leach the system I just need transition funds and want to focus on school. I have applied for the CAT program but massage therapy is not in high demand so they denied it. How is it that I can serve my country, pay into the program but still not get it. I could get a min. wage job but that is not what I need. I wanted unemployment so I could focus on school, my transition and finding a good high paying job. Instead of letting my skills go to waste fliping burgers. Can anyone explain this? Even the people at unemployment cant. Thank you
