Why is it that I find 40-yo women much more attractive now as I approach that age, but didn't when I was 20?

We all don't look like Aunt Bea anymore.. and we are more mature... which of course means we be knowing things... those nice mind and body stimulating sorta things.

We have over a 100 word vocabulary for starters and some other fun qualities that would get me suspended so I will be keeping those to myself on good ole Y/A.

Besides love the older you get the younger we look.  It was just not right when we looked like we could be your mommy, and well that probably isn't a problem now..

Maybe some people find personality, the mind, maturity, life experiences, etc. more attractive as they get older than just pure physical attraction.  So that mixed with still some physical attraction is just irresistible.  I know I do.

It's because you are approximately the same age, so your concept of "old" as changed from what it was almost 20 years ago.  Back then, you probably thought of anyone over 30 as almost senior citizens. Maybe women who have experienced some of life and with whom you have some things in common are appealing and s**y to you.  When you were 20, you no doubt found women closer to your age more appealing and s**y because you had more in common with them and could relate to them better.  Someone 20 years older was probably closer to your mom's age.

maybe because you understand you might never get 20 year old girls again.  And when you were twenty, you never thought of dating a 40 year old.

I think it's because when you mature, you start seeing older and younger figures in different perspectives...

When you're really young, others your age are playmates, they're cool: older kids don't play the same games and so they're not appealing to us at that age, so we develop close relationships with other youngsters. Older kids are more 'brothers and sisters'.

Then in your teens, older women and men always seem better and more attractive, because it's all "how HOT would it be to date an older woman?!".

But when you're 20, I think you start to suddenly think of older women as more motherly figures, unless you are sexually attracted and in a relationship, but the situations are different there. Women in their twenties are s**y and glamorous, and they're also young and energetic too, with possibilities of a family if you're thinking about it.

But in your forties...well, I know older men are still attracted to younger women but, still, women in their 40's are more sophisticated, and as you get older, sophistication gets more and more s**y. Like, right now, I'm still kinda young, and I don't look for 'sophisticated' men, whereas my aunt always tells me she does. So those women appear much sexier, and they /are/, but when YOU'RE that age, you appreciate it more because you can understand it, so it's extremely appealing because we're attracted to partners that mirror us.

Because woman 40 and over have a style and confidence, a sense of freedom about themselves  that women in their 20's haven't found yet.

Plus this is when women hit their sexual peak.

Boys need to become men to realise this.

I'm not much of a baby/child person (except when I have my own) but I did talk to them, play with them, hang out with them when I was a child myself....

It's because they're a part of your peer group that you can relate to them.

I have noticed that to,at 20 a 40 year old was ancient to me,she would have had to been a complete knock out for me to even glance her way,even then it would have been a stretch for me,now that I'm 35 these girls don't look so bad to me,ya know what it is Reality,we have dropped our standards a little,maybe were a little more forgiving of there flaws because we have some ourselves.Its a two way street though,these young girls think were dinosaurs,of course there are exceptions,I know you know what I'm talking about but overall the girls we used to go after as young guys aren't interested too much anymore,maybe that's another reason why the 40 year olds seem more appealing,also have you sat down and talked to a 21 year old girl lately,not a Polish one but an American,its pretty tough,they say like about 40 times per sentence,it gives me a headache LOL

It like when u were 5 and u had a crush on the 5 year old girl sitting next to u.

But as u get to a higher age u see things different ... U Change and so does ur taste in different things....

I am a 19 year old male and I find the average 40 year old woman more attractive than most 20 year old females. I have felt this way since my mid-teens. I have always been known to have defined tastes, this may be a reason for my attraction to older women because generally they have more sophistication and distinction than younger women have.

I am also very much into the 1980's, especially Heavy Metal and New Wave styles that were popular in those times. Most girls from my generation don't have the tolerance for the technical superiority of this music and would rather spend their time listening to the 2-digit 3rd Wave Emotional Hardcore, Rap Music, and Disney Esque audio waste that American society shoves down their throat. Even within metal sub-cultures it is rare to find younger girls who are as heavily into the lifestyle as the older women from past generations embraced. This is less of a problem in Western Europe and Japan but universally the female gender has devolved.

This may be an effect of mindless American dietary/lifestyle trends but in the 00's I find that most younger females have flatter hair, and less developed boyish bodies than their predecessors did during the 1980's. Even if they are overweight they are still just a mountain of lumpy roles. Most girls of my generation are either grossly underweight or morbidly obese, there really isn't much of a selection in between the two extremes.

Meanwhile older women physically outshine younger women with bigger hair, voluptuous hips, and more femininity. By this I do not mean that I am only attracted to women that look like porcelain dolls, I find androgyny attractive, but not in the way the it is implemented by younger women.

"I think women are like wine, the older, the finer they become." It varies but I find most women hit their physical peak between 30-50 years of age.

There are a plethora of reasons as to why you may feel this way but to decisively answer this question I would think that younger women during the time of your adolescence and young adulthood were TECHNICALLY more attractive then the younger women of today who are a mockery to the female gender in both personality and physical appearance.

It is a shame that all of my past girlfriends have had flatter hair and flatter hips than I do as a male and are visually deleted by their gracefully aging mothers.
