When someone openly admits they like me or have asked me out on a date in the past, my boyfriend flips and gets really angry. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that Im 21 and hes 31 but im not sure. Are all guys like this? Im not like this when someone hits on him

  1. The ugly green jealousy monster!!!

  2. No, not all guys. It's the other way around for my bf, I think I've YET to see him jealous, I know he loves me... but he doesn't have that green monster.

I'll go out and get home & he'll ask me "So did you flirt with anyone?" I reply "Yes!" and then he hugs me and says "Good job honey!" lol

But I have the green streak running deep, I'm TRYING to work on it, but I get angry if I even see him TALKING to another girl. I TOTALLY need to work on it I know.

My bf and I have talked and he told me he does get jealous, but tries not to show it, because he wants me to know I'm free to go if I want to. I really admire that, "if you love someone set them free, if they love you they will come back to you."

Men are much more territorial though... so the majority of them are like yours, but you shud tell your guys to lighten up a bit!

  3. meh lots of guys are, its just jeolusy. personally id find it offensive, its like they cant trust you if your not watching them, its why i dont do it.

  4. Two Reasons:

    1) Jealousy, he is threatened by the fact that they want to take you away from him

    2) Disrespect; Its alot like saying, I know you are with this guy but he is such a loose that i am openly saying you should leave him and date me instead

Not all guys are like this

  5. Because Men have p***s'. It's like that. You see, if you look in the dictionary for the definition of a woman with a huge s*x drive, you'll find Nymphomaniac. If you look up the definition for a man with a huge s*x drive you'll find....Man....there is no other word. Men are designed to aggressively mate with as many females as possible. To spread the seed. It's how we are made. I don't trust guys either, cuz I know that most of them would cheat with my girl if she offered to give it up to them.

  6. Fear of competition.

  7. most guys are always protective of their gf's. most just dont feel the need to show it all the time unless its nessassary i.e the situation u just said.

also, if we do act protective all the time, wont that be seen as controlling and smothering you?

edit: also, he's 31 and ur 21? h**l yes he doesnt wanna lose  you.

  8. i dunno

  9. sounds a little over possessive to me...

Mine gets a little jealous, but then laughs it off...he is secure enough to know i'm not going anywhere.

If he is truly "flips and gets really angry" it might be time to find a new one.

  10. Well what would you do if a girl was chatting him up? You wouldn't act any different?

  11. Meh, I don't care so long as you don't mind if an old girlfriend approaches him and does the same and you don't get a little protective of him.

  12. It's probably normal for a guy to feel a bit jealous, but "really angry" is unusual, to say the least.

  13. If you plan to get married, then your prospect for marriage comes first and hopefully the rest will have to control their jealousy
