Why is it that SOME white people treat us (black...people of color meaning mexican whatever) so different?

now please dont get offended by this which i know most of you will. but i just really want to know. and all you white people wonder why y to black people treat yall bad sometimes. and ive had a white person say to me b4 that alot of white people think black people arent smart they are just athletic.i cant stand it!!!! i've never ever in my life have been racist to anybody white or mexican doesnt matter. why cant people stop seeing for people by color but bytheir personality. and watch somebody who reads this thinks its a bunch of c**p but it isnt. when i go places around white people they stare and when its a accomplishment like a academic acheivement they look at me like 'you are the girl getting this award' somebody try to explain this to me

White people are really racist, as a group. I met a black girl once, and she eventually told me "I wasn't sure how you'd treat me, because you're white."

It seems like it's a big circle: White people are racist, so everyone else expects them to be racist. The white people know that everyone else already expects this of them, which makes them even more racist, which makes everyone else expect it even more...see, it's a never-ending cycle.

I'm sorry that you have to put up with this. I don't understand why color plays such an important part in people's lives...it doesn't affect IQ, or athletics, or personality, or anything else. And no one should act like it does.

Think what it'd be like if everyone were BLIND. You'd have no clue what color other people were. That would probably be a lot better, don't you think? Unfortunately, that's not possible. People have to see to run everything (busses, airplanes, etc...) So there will be racism.

Fear and ignorance is absolutely right.  It goes much deeper than that even.  It's for everyone to study his/her history and all the answers will surface.  Racism won't go away unfortunately.  There's always a power struggle going on.  From the beginning of the creation of the first man till this very day, there is no peace and understanding.  Still chaos.

well it goes both ways, my friend got beat up by 4 black girls just because she was a white girl. so it's not like white people are the only racist people. and not all whites are racist, i'm sure some are just like some black people are racist.

I don't. It's called "stereotype." Rap and hip hop so-called musicians are a major part of it. There is no such thing as role model. It looks more spectacular and exciting than a Michael Jordan. Name one black scholar that's known internationally that's a role model.

Then there are the likes of Al (The Mouth) Sharpton and Jesse Jackson. Yeah, uh huh.

Why? It's a long question. But as a white male, let me try to explain some of the perceptions and how they surface to the "different" feeling you feel victim to.

The answer to it is cultural. We whites genernally view ourselves as superior due to our defining role in the creation of the modern concept of the world orders.

Take for example that quite a lot of sub-saharan African tribes were still running around in loincloth with spears at a time when the European nations were building gigantic cities made of stone which could house millions. Built huge ships able to carry over a thousand people. Created the steam engine and trains.

This is also why your typical racist will be less virulent or show a stronger superior complex towards Asians. Since Asians are seen as being culturally and technologically advanced as well. Hence most of the dirt flings onto people of African heritage, who are caricatured into the likes of primitive monkeys are mentally deficient creatures.

As well feeding to the superiority complex. Is the fact that in Africa the two historically most successful nations were white apartheid states. It is a sad fact that in apartheid Zimbabwe the blacks had a better life than in the current black-ruled Zimbabwe. Same with South Africa, the GDP and nation was richer under white rule than under it's current black rule. There are a myriad of reasons for this, and they certainly are not that blacks are inferior or that whites are completely to blame.

It also doesn't help that black americans are excessively violent for their minority status. Making up 39% of the crimes whilst making up only 13% of the population. Whilst it's true that certain poor and poverty stricken members of "white" minorities such as Russians or Serbs make black american gangsters look like carebears in terms of sheer brutality. The fact is that most minorities in the US, white and asian stay well within their quota of crimes vs population %, even when having the same amount of poverty or more poverty. Take for example Asians. First wave Asian immigrants are almost all of the time poorer than black Americans. However by second generation Asians on average have a higher earning. Why is this? Partly because of the overemphasis of education in Asian culture. Whereas we always get to hear that blacks who act too educated are berated for acting "too white."

This awakens the impression even in us whites, that blacks are more socially, culturally and technologically primitive than us. Fostering a superiority complex.

But lastly it also has to do with North European culture. We are very elitist. Even whites who do not meet up to standard are slandered off as white trash and trailer park garbage. If we even view much of the white race to be insufficiently qualified to our standards, how can you be surprised that black people are overly rejected in kind?
