Why is it that The World Feels free to Mock the US, but when we Retaliate they get mad and Hate us even more?

They call us fat but when we say something back, it's like a slap in the face to them and they get even more pissed off.

It makes people look kind of stupid and short-sighted.

For the same reason Soap Opera's remain popular. People like to see other people that have more advantages fall and if they can't see them fall they want to see them miserable and when that doesn't happen they find something to mock them about. They think we don't live in their world of reality. Some middle eastern countries weren't happy about 9/11 but they were happy that we experienced some of what they go through.

Why shouldn't they? It's not as if they don't mock anywhere else. However it could be said that America does get it a bit more than anywhere else.

It's popular to say that Americans are stupid, perhaps because Bush, hardly the most intelligent leader, is thought of to be a 'typical' American. It's only a bit of fun and I, personally (I'm British) don't hate the US; even when they 'retaliate'.

It looks to me like you have the wrong impression on the world.  Stop living inside a box already.  There are other parts of the world that people live and work in that is not inside the United States.

yes, they love to hate and mock us, but don't kid yourself , they're jealous, when I lived abroad all they wanted was to get to the US to get some "opportunities".
