Why is it that Vietnamese dialogues always end with the word "la"?

Why is it that Vietnamese dialogues always end with the word "la"?

im vietnamese but i dont really understand bc i don't say la at the end

but i do know that my chinese friends type that a lot at the end of her sentence whenever we chat....

i think its something similar to "yeah, ok, right..."

I have never tried to listen to them....but I will go to visit China town tomorrow .. I am kidding..I swear I can't tell Asians apart..All I know they're smart people..
