Question:

Why is it that Yahoo Answers seems to be populated by Conservative Christians? ?

I walk around in the real world and I never meet people who admit to being Republicans (except family) so why do they seem to be the majority on here? Even Christians on a real forum where you have to defend your answers with responses; the religious people just get destroyed by rational thought and can't successfully defend their positions.

Are Conservative Christians just at too great of a disadvantage when there are rebuttals? There is no defend your opinion or you lose the argument.

I say they start something new like Yahoo Arguments.

  1. 'Conservative Christians' have an axe to grind with everyone that doesn't see eye to eye with them and their agenda.

  2. Most people are Conservative Christians in the US, they have different opinions though about the issues.

But, we own rational thought and can defend our positions against anyone.

Abortion is murder, nothing else to say, and true.

    Homosexuality is an abomination, true.

I could go on but you lose.

  3. There are a lot of atheists and nonreligious people on the R/S section.

I lived in the bible belt for like 10 years, I can say that it just depends where you live.

Trust me if you lived where I did, or even where I do now, you would see Christian and Jesus stuff everywhere

  4. I wouldn't say they're the majority on Y!A, just the most outspoken.  There are a ton of atheists on here, too.

  5. What might the problem be? Are Christians not allowed here? Or better who are you to say where anyone should or should not be at any given moment?

    Please respond.

  6. No need to defend the Word Of God as It defends Itself.

  7. If it makes you feel any better, I'm a Liberal Christian.

  8. there are a lot of atheists here

  9. They've been statistically proven to be more bored and less creative than the rest of the population; hence they hang out here and commit egregious spelling sins.

  10. over breeding...

  11. Too many sensible people in real life?   Computer equals la-la land, safety?

  12. I am 39 and in my lifetime the republican party has held the White House for all but 12 of those years. Nixon(R), Ford(R), Carter(D), Reagan(R), Bush(R), Clinton(D), Bush(R). Do you think its the liberals that are electing these presidents?

I know a lot of people who think there are two things you should never talk about in public. Religion and politics. Most people have very opinionated beliefs in both of these subjects and it can quickly start an argument to bring them up.

I have no problem having an open debate about either.

This is the religion and spirituality section, if you wish not to have scripture quoted, there are many other sections.

  13. Conservatives generally have no friends so by answering others questions, it feels like they are making friends. It's also the only place where people will actually read or pay attention to anything they have to say.

  14. I don't know where you live but Y!A is overrun by atheists and wiccans ;)

  15. you must be awake at a different time.

  16. <--- Libertarian Hermeticist Pantheist here. Used to be a fundamentalist evangelical Christian, and worked Bush's grassroots campaign both times (was too young for Bush 41). But I can no longer support the lack of compassion and equal rights for g**s, the hard-line stance on abortion, the continuation (or expansion) of the income tax, or the idea that the government is supposed to provide for me.

So, I landed in a position where I'll be voting for Bob Barr. The only ticket with two white men... and I thought I was enlightened, liberated, and open-minded. Geez...

    Blessings,

    Kate

  17. Actually, alot of the Christian Conservatives are pretty smart.

But when I say alot, I mean about 0.002% of the people on here. The smart ones are out in the real world manipulating and controlling the stupid ones, who then go on the internet - a cesspool of retardation and smug - and decide to preach on religion here.

Don't underestimate the ones running the show, cause when it comes to bullshit - you have to stand in AWE of the achievements of those certain individuals.

  18. Rebuttals, like we DIDN'T evolve from apes after all??? OOPS, found evidence that you were wrong and just shifted your fabrication to avoid massive humiliation.

  19. I try to keep tight rein on my dogs, horses and arguments. While I have had dogs and horses get loose and I will sometime let them loose, I have never loosed an argument. And it is seldom when I find I am losing an argument. I have verbally capitulated to keep someone else from losing their temper, and also at times when I find the other person is incapable of seeing a point I am trying to make or I am unable to get them to understand well enough for them to even give an intelligent answer, but that is seldom indeed. No quoting scripture? You can think all you want, but you are wrong. I might go for no quotes at all. That would definitely give me a huge advantage over nearly everyone if not in fact everyone. You are losing your argument more and more. Your suggestion for a forum such as you suggest goes against the very spirit (pun intended) of Yahoo! Answers. And things are not always what they seem. Including my religious beliefs.
