Has anyone ever noticed that when you fill a container with a cold liquid and tightly close it with a lid so nothing can escape the outside of the container still gets moist. Why is that?

  4. It is the moisture in the air called condensation.

  5. Water molecules in the air are chilled by the lack of heat energy in the glass container. They lose enough energy to condense to form liquid water on the surface of the glass. Clouds and rain are formed in the same process by chilling water molecules in the air due to the high altitude.
