Question:

Why is it that a person with a glass eye can drive a vehicle! But people with two eyes has to have a exam?

I am 40 years old and went to get my license renewd, Turns out i need a eye exam as usual. Now why is it that a person with one eye can drive! h**l my two eyes got to be better then one, I could be wrong but how could i be. Love to hear what other people think. Im all ears!!!!!

  1. A person with one eye has to have 20/20 vision or better but I do understand what you are saying because it would be more dangerous for that person to see from left to right.


  2. Well, by law, I think the person with one eye has to have better vision for that eye than is requried in each eye of someone with two.  

    And when you think about it, its becuase the government doesn't want to say that if something happens to one of your eyes, you will never be able to drive again.  

    From a more scientific standpoint, both eyes are only neccessary to evaluate depth, not so much detail.  Assuming that this person was not born with one eye, the brain will fill in the gap left behind by the other eye, and he should be able to see fine (for the most part).  

    Eye exams still suck though right ;)

  4. People with one eye have to take a special test, my friend had too and they do get their eye examined also
