  1. Wow, pretty Catty between you two!  First of all, its not a dumb question, and yes, as with every "rule" there are exceptions.  In an effort to give the best answer I can come up with I will para-phrase your question to "Why is it that so many top level athletes have training partners who havent come close to equal success?"  Fair?

Okay, the primary reason I have seen in my experience is because quite often the top level fighter can focus solely on training.  Many of the top level trainers out there simply dont have time to stop training others, and still others may simply not want to do more than train/ support friends and fighters.  Pro athletes in general, and fighters in particular, are at the high end of the genetic spectrum, able to push past mental and physical obstacles that the average person couldnt overcome.  However, thats not to say the trainer/ friend can't help to push his partner in training.  So there you have it, at least in my experince.  Hope this helps!!

  2. you mean like Wanderlei and shogun??   Or the Diaz Brothers... or Anderson Silva And the Nog brothers??   Your question is not very smart...

Well shogun began training with Wand when he was in his early teens, i mean maybe they werent born together but theyve known eachother for years...And anderson also trained with them for years before he switched camps... And if we are going back to birth...How about Just the NOG brothers, or the 100 Gracies who are worldclass fighters, or are we not going to count them since they are family members....Dont be mad that your an idiot and ask dumb questions...

Im right your wrong your a fool

What of my comments was wrong...and while im back i will also add the Fedor and alex Emelienko(sp), and the Rua brothers shogun and ninja...Have i Not proven your question meaningless???

Its not that i didnt like the question, its just that your opinion is wrong, and thenyou continued to argue it, proving yourself to be dumber even than i originally thought from your first question...so accept that you are wrong and we can be done here

  3. OOH get her!

  4. there are a few types of training partners/coaches:

    1. ex-champions. not only have they been there and knows what it takes to get there, but also they have accumulated a lot of knowledges about the art, sport, tactics, training methods, diet, ..etc. However they may not be physical to become champion again themselves or they may not be motivated anymore as there priorities changes in their lives.

    2. coaches who were fighters but not champions. They did what they could but they may not had what it takes to become champions both physically and mentally, but what they have is a lot of knowledges and a very strategic mind. So they would be good to train talented fighters to become champions. some of the soccer coaches were not great players in their time, but because of their insights and understand of the game and the ability to communication with the players, they made great coaches who can take teams to championship.

    3. Sparring partners. they may be good at a specific part of the game. eg. great hands, or great bjj skills, but they don't have the total game. so they can be use to train a specific part of your game/skill. They may not be able to become champions because they lack talents, skills, or heart, or the physique for it. But they are good at helping the champions, pointing out their weaknesses, improving different aspects of their games.

Most people dream of becoming  a champion, but it will take someone with great discipline, obsessions, and talents to become one. (also, the right coaches as well). lacking any of these factors, you can be a good fighter  but you will fall short of being a champion.

99.9% of the cases, it is not the question that is dump, it is the answer that is dump, if the answer is not address the question. We ask questions to further our understanding. Those who do not understand and yet won't ask the question because of their fear or pride, those are the unfortunate ones, for they will learn nothing in life. The only way to learn is to ask questions. And yes, sometimes, you get a lot of stupid answers!

  5. It can be a few factors.

Not all great trainers and coaches can be great fighters I know that seems contradictory but possibly it could be that they lacked the heart or toughness but knew the skills, its like snooker for example Terry Griffiths is one of the best coaches in the world but only won the world championship once yet he's coached Stephen Hendry who is known regarded as the greatest ever so I'd suggest it would be the same in most sports / martial arts.

Just my humble opinion and Best wishes :)***
