  1. I will add a little more to what Jung has said...

Any planet conjunct any of the angles is heightened in its importance. So that includes the Ascendant, and the Descendant, and the Midheaven (MC) and the Nadir (IC)...

  2. Hi Hero

Any aspects or planets rising or in the 1st are important because it is an angular house for one thing.

The Ascendant is the product that you want to show, to present, to sell to the world. It has to be packaged well.

Here, planets in aspect or in 1st effect the personal appearance, the physical body and its health, the temperament and disposition and personal changes.

    It is the "YOU".

Compare the Ascendant like a big room and the Sun (sunsign) is in that room. If the windows were tinted blue, that would mean that everybody looking in would see everything in blue. And, you, on the inside looking out would see everything blue.

So the Sun sign is yellow, going through that front door, it will be tinted with the blue outside making his expression more like a greenish tint in expression.

That is how you would show yourself and not necessarily the real you since your Sun is yellow. But, you are happy to shoe yourself as greenish in tint.

That expresses the importance of the Ascendant. The aspects it receives always influence us directly, whether it is the personality or the health. And this will reflect on how we handle the rest of the houses.
