Why is it that as we get older

Our ability to hold in pain becomes stronger. I hope that makes sense. For instance when I was like 7 I got stung by a bee and I cried. A couple months ago I got stung by a bee and it just hurt a bit.

  1. probably has something to do with size too.

It has something to do with being able to deal with situations better. More psychological than anything else.

  2. you still want to cry but your a guy and you have learned guys are not aloud to cry.

  3. That's a really good question. That i don't know the answer too unfortunately. Let me know when you get an answer

  4. hi there!

i think, its because when we grow older we have learned how to handle more situations and emotions.

  5. I think it's more of a mental thing than physical. When you're little, you can make a big deal out of little things, and you know that someone's going to be there to comfort you and make you feel better. When you're older, you're more independent and have to take care of yourself, so you tell yourself it's not a big deal and keep going.

The other day I pinched my finger on an adjustable table, and it hurt like h**l, but I held it in because it would have been ridiculous for me to start crying over it. My bf was there and he made sure I was okay, but if I cried like I would have if I was a kid, I think he'd be worried that I was seeking major attention. Most of the time, it's expected to want attention when you're little :)

  6. Its because you grow stronger, so little things cant hurt you as they did when you were a kid.

  7. Fear is a great part of our response.

After we experience things we learn to not fear them.

We also acquire tolerance that builds as we build experience.

At some point old age allows us to become numb.  This helps us to endure marriage and other painful stuff :)
