Why is it that ea has eliminated makes and models from the new nascar 09 series?

there is not Chevy,ford, dodge or Toyota the makes are not even mentioned within the game the only reference to makes I could find within the game was a nearly cut off chevy symbol on Jeff Gordons drivers suit on the game cover, i dont know about anyone else but i think someone besides ea should make nascar games for xbox and playstation

Well I don't have the game to see it for myself. But if there aren't any emblems, it just means EA didn't spend the extra cash for the licenses.

As far as other developers making NASCAR games, well, there use to be Papyrus/Sierra (Nascar Racing) and Infrogames (Nascar Heat), which in my opinion were superior to anything EA has come up with. But EA hates competition so they either buy out development houses or in this case snatch up exclusive licenses to lock out the competition.

There definitly should be someone else making the game. Thank God this is the last year of EA's exclusive with EA. So may comapanies could do SO MUCH BETTER. EA sucks. The lonly reason I buy it is because it's the only one out there. The game has gotten worse and worse since the contract.

I think its cause in the slumping market the Auto Manufactures didnt want to spend their money advertising in this game

but because people can paint their own rides it shouldnt be a problem, just look for a Chevy/Ford/Dodge/Toyota template and paint your favorite drivers car accurately, or look for site that paints cars and download them

they did that so it would take up less space and less time to make

they did the same in nascar 08 for the trucks and COT it made me mad so if i were you i would ask ea why if you can

It is licensing.  It is always licensing that causes these problems with missing drivers and makes etc.  It is not always that they don't spend the money but sometimes it is a seriously unreasonable amount of money to buy them.  It gets to a point where it is just not cost effective.

I understand where you are coming from and had this happen with some games I was involved in the past.

Yea, NASCAR 08 blew so much... I traded it in cause it was so bad..

I downloaded the demo and im just going to play that lol
