  4. maybe because the places where they get oil got damaged or they were afraid they would have an oil shortage

  5. Only  hurricanes that cause  major damage to the rigs and refineries along the Gulf coast cause prices to rise.  No tornadoes or other kinds of storms have that effect.

  6. it's used as an excuse for the gas companies

    there is no valid reason for them to.
