For example I recently Bought A brand new Kia Rio I looked it up on the internet it's supposed to cost 11,450 $ that about 61,000 L.E Here it costs 85,000 L.E And It's supposed to have Alloy Rims , Rear and Front Fog lights, Sun roof And six Airbags And yet it has none of these.....

Why is that? And I'm sure that it's not a different Version than the one listed at the site

  1. Shalfat gave you the correct answer, besides the car dealer in Egypt usually also deals in other body parts and accessories or is the sole agent for this car brand.

What they do is order the cheaper stripped model of the car, to pay less taxes as he said, but will also buy those accessories and resell them in Egypt at triple their original price (the taxes on spare parts is much less), so you end up adding all the accessories that you were suppose to receive in the first place with more profit for him and a bigger loss for you.

  2. Taxes and duties on Cars are incredibly expensive. So the cars will be far more expensive than many other places.

So, for agents to make more money they get cars with less options so they get it cheaper and make good profit. Of course if they have all the options it will be very expensive for people to buy.

Additionally, in USA and Europe there is a standard feature for cars to have by law, so they have to stick with it. In Egypt it is not the same, they can do what they want.

  3. I'm not really sure why but if I was to take a guess I'd say they strip down the parts and sell them separately to make more money.

  4. Its coasts 85000 its OK but did you calculate the duties & service tax its mean no profit
