Why is it that fizzy drinks from a cinema, mcdonalds e.t.c taste different to say out of a can.?

They all use dispenser things, but why does it taste different

  1. they don't use real Coke, it's just cola syrup and water usually.


  2. There are many reasons...

    1.  For diet soda, the formulations can be different between fountain and can.  For example, Diet Coke has a different formulation for the can vs. fountain.

    2. The water to syrup ratio may be off on the fountain... or the syrup is running low.  I've seen some businesses dial down the syrup so the owner can stretch the syrup... Cheap b*****d!

    3.  The water being used.  The water in the canned soda goes through a filtration process, which removes off taste, while the fountain has minimal filtration, if any, before going to the carbonator.

  3. Have you ever gotten a soda from a theater or restaurant and the drink tastes just plain wrong? Yeah, its because the seltzer and soda syrup didn't mix properly. It's some pretty awful stuff if you straight up drink the syrup actually...
