  1. Okay, now that you have done that how about embracing faith in leprechauns? I mean if you do you never know you might just stumble over a pot of leprechaun gold at the end of a rainbow some day. Doesn't that make life even more whimsical and happy? I mean its just a matter of having faith. If you are willing to forgo evidence and rational logic in one instance why not here?  I guess for me intellectual honesty, sanity, and feeling a grip on reality require me to treat all things that seem irrational and illogical and lack evidence on equal footing.

  2. Saying, "I believe Jesus to be the Christ" will do little for you, that is why it is so easy.

Acting like Jesus, is allot harder, and takes some work and effort on the part of those who should want to Become lIke Him, but it will do allot for you.

The church is hard to swallow for anyone who still has the capacity to use logic and reason to analyze facts where-by they may reach logical conclusions. But then the church wasn't created to Enlighten, but to control.

  3. In many cases, it is simply because the person has had horrible things happen to him or her (or loved ones, or simply other people), and cannot believe that a god would allow such things to happen.

In other cases, it is the lack of empirical evidence that provides the stumbling block.

There are also other people who just don't think about such things.  For that matter, there are a lot of people who don't think about much of anything at all.

There are probably other reasons as well.

  4. Well Muslims, Jews, Buddhists, Hindus and a whole lot of other people have faith!  Just not in Jesus...

A lot of people have faith that tomorrow the sun will rise.

    None of this matter.

People have the choice whether they want to believe in Jesus and God.  If they choose to believe it is not true then no amount of faith will help them.

  5. as a pagan, I do have faith.  it's different than yours.

you're an example of why non-christians dislike christians.  you shove your religion each chance you get.  your ignorance, intolerance, & bigotry only reinforce the negative opinion many have towards christians.  you are the worst kind of 'christian.'

  6. I have this brain you see,and it always gets in the way of stuff like that.I had the same problem with the boogyman

  7. Because we don't want to accept Jesus into our lives!  We don't wanna believe in something that doesn't exist!

  8. It may have been easy for you for many reason.  From what you've written I would say it is because you are easily led.

If humanity never questioned anything we'd still be living in huts.

  9. Hahahaha.  Bride of Jesus is back, the one who's married to her "father".  And you brought your 1st grade communication skills with you.  Every Christian post is grammatical ****, I think I see a positive correlation here.

Anyway, why don't we atheists just quit all our jobs and go on welfare? It's an easy thing to do!  You see, Ms. Bride, we atheists (I'm sure that's who you meant but you erroneously put "non christians", a stupidity I've come to expect from Christians) have something called self-respect, which you know nothing about.  We like to use the brain we have to learn and reason rather than sit in a mindless stupor. If you live long enough, you will learn that self-respect feels 1000x better than however it is you feel when you feel that "god" or "jesus" loves you.  I honestly hope you reach that epiphany someday and contact us when you do.

  10. I have faith, but it's anything but easy.

  11. They choose to have faith in man instead of our Lord.  Most non-believers refuse to change their lifestyle for God.  They prefer their sinful lifestyle . . . the lifestyle of man.  They do not recognize that life of this earth is a tiny matter compared to life eternal.

  12. Funny thing is that I tried this and stuck with it for 15 years.  Nothing happened.  Zip.  Nada.  I was left with the inevitable conclusion that god doesn't exist.

It's such a simple, easy realisation to make.

  13. Surely only a spiritual pygmy would accept the paltry false promises of Christ over the gracious gnostic plenty of the Great Garden Gnome, Lord of the Pond.

  14. yep......it sure is so simple......it doesn't require thought.........guess we're just morons cause we find it more valuable to think........

  15. Faith is not easy for everyone, you really have to be a true believer to have faith.

  16. Non-Christian =/= atheist.

  17. Bride....

wow...please come back off that ledge, okay?

There HAS to be room for intellectual challenge in any faith. It is a fallacy to think that everyone should "just believe."

I'm Christian, and I don't "just believe." Personally, I believe in an intellectually honest faith. Which means, yes, there are some HUGE gaps in my understanding. I don't know how all of science and faith dovetail. But, I start here: "I don't know what I don't know." And THAT leads me to the cornerstone of my faith: "assume nothing."

I believe that God thinks thats pretty cool.

  18. It is very simple to say that you believe in a thing.  Where the difficulty comes is when you try to continue to believe in it.  You can only do this by turning off a part of your mind, which we atheists can't do.  If you are content to live without reasoning, then enjoy, just don't expect us to join you.
