I have noticed that when it is cold myself and others seem to urinate a lot more often and the bodies ability to retain fluids i.e (tea coffee etc )consumed seems to be reduced. Why is this. Any medicos out there have an answer for this one.

  1. may be when it's hot, you sweat more, when it's cold, you doesn't sweat so the water turn into urine

  2. When it is cold your body uses less water as you don't require large amounts of sweat to cool you down.

Furthermore most people are less active when it is cold and therefore use less energy and as a result less chemical reactions occur as the body does not have to break down as many fats and carbohydrates to create energy. These are broken down using water in a process called 'hydrolysis'.

At the same time most people drink more fluid like coffee (a laxative), tea, soups and so-fourth which all combine to create a large excess of unused water which must exit the system at some point.

Look up hydrolysis in google to find out more info on digestion i.e: chemical reactions.

  3. the body heat tends to be centralized in the center of our body around the area where the kidney is..

therefore more blood circulates through the kidneys and thus more products being processed..

  4. If I am not mistaken I think the bladder shrinks. Therefore making less room to contain liquids.I may be wrong though.
