I live in Minnesota and i bought a couple egg cases . they all hatched. i should have enough foliage for them. For some reason they are getting harder and harder to find. Is it because predators or are they in different yards, but it doesnt make alot of sense because my neighbors hav just grass.

  1. Because they camoflage themselves.  You have to look very carefully.

  2. How interesting that you would ask that!

My kids and I were talking about that very thing, just a few days ago.

I'm in Ohio, and we've yet to see a single mantis this year.  Normally, by this time in the summer, we'd be seeing LOTS of them.

I wonder if this is just not a good year for them ... weather conditions in the midwest ... or something else is going on?

I'd be very interested in knowing why, too.  So, I'm sorry that I don't have an answer for you, but I have noticed the same situation!
