Why is it that i have to update the game every time i insert a xbox 360 game into the console?

it kinda happens to most of my games, particularly call of duty 4 and rainbow six: vegas 2. it is so annoying.

idk..but everytime i play mlb2k7 on live and then go play any other game it always updates...

i think issue happens mostly  during online gaming. what i suggest you to do is to create first a new gamer tag, see if the new profile will work. also you may try to restore the console into it's factory default settings by removing ALL of the cables you have inserted onto your console and wait for about an hour. after doing so place all the cables back and check if it still does the same thing. if yes, i think you're console is for repair. try to call the customer support for xbox it's 1-800-4MYXBOX  so they can further assist you.=)

If it's the same game everytime, and you update it with Xbox live, then idk, but do all the updates if you can, and hope they will go away.

Are the updates successful?

I assume you are connected to Xbox live for you to get the update screen. You could have a setting with your internet that blocks information from certain ports (often used to stop torrents), in which case the game will try to update itself (patch) but will fail to get updated.

maybe cause the game needs to be updated? just a thought...
