  1. i dont really want to see either, but i watch jones jr. hoping to see him get knocked out again. hopkins is just a dirty mostly boring fighter to watch, those are my reasons.

  2. I would not pay a sinlge cent to see Hopkins fight he fights not to lose and not to win he has made millions with his style on the other hand Roy Jones Jr. is the greatest fighter who has ever lived I would pay to see his work outs

  3. Roy Jones, Jr. has always been the more entertaining fighter.  Bernard Hopkins is a great fighter, but he has been too defensive in the past couple of years to excite fans.  People watch him because it is interesting to see a 40-something guy work his craft and show the world that he's "still got it."  There was a time when Hopkins took chances and his fights were very entertaining- watch his fights with Segundo Mercado, Antwun Echols, and even Felix Trinidad or Oscar De La Hoya.  He took chances in all of those fights because he was younger and could afford to take those kind of risks, but now that he is older, he patiently waits for his opponents to make the first mistake and as a result, his fights have become very boring.  If it was the Hopkins of 2001 or anytime before that, he would have easily beaten Jermain Taylor or Joe Calzaghe.

Roy Jones, Jr. on the other hand is to this day a very exciting fighter to watch.  He is obviously not as good as he once was, but he still has enough natural talent to make the fans come back for more.  Thats why his fight against an overweight and washed up Felix Trinidad sold over 500,000 pay per views.  He has always been willing to take chances, unlike Hopkins and it has been a double edged sword for Jones.  It was good in his prime because he entertained the crowd while he was doing his thing- the "hands behind the back knockout" and the taunting that he always used to do.  Now, that he is past his prime, it has come back to bite him against top opponents- keeping his right hand so low got him knocked out against Antonio Tarver, and Glen Johnson bumrushed him.  The other thing is that, up until recently Roy was always the better pound for pound boxer.  Its pretty funny because the only Roy Jones, Jr. fight that I found relatively boring was the one against Hopkins, so that shows you right there why you are willing to pay to watch one and not the other.  Roy is an entertainer AND a boxer who will always be fun to watch, Hopkins on the other hand is an old master of his craft who is now more concerned with the end result (a victory) than he is with pleasing the fans.

  4. There is a simple answer to this. Jones jr is an exciting fighter with great knockout power. He has been his whole career. It doesnt matter who he is fighting, he is gonna give it his all and put a show on for the fans. Bernard Hopkins is the exact opposite. He sits back and doesnt throw until the opponent throws, trying to counter everything. Did you watch the fight he had with Winky??? One of the most boring fights ive ever seen. Winky, who is a defensive fighter himself, actually had to take the fight to hopkins who refuses to fight. Hope this answers your quesiton.

  5. a Roy Jones bout brings more excitement, some might say even more so now because he's not the same fighter and can be beaten.  same as De La Hoya..  Hopkins is like Whitaker, always a great  technician despite his age. but not a thrill to watch most times.
