Why is it that in instrumentation 4-20mA is used as an electronic signal and 3-15psi is used in the pneumatics

answer me at my e-mail add.....why is it that the electronic signal is 4-20mA and the pneumatic signal is 3-15psi...tnx...

  1. the only answer I have is "why not"

    They are not related, one is current, and the other is pressure. Would the world be different if the pressure one were 4-20 psi? I doubt it.


  2. One reason why the minimum is not zero is to determine if the cable/pneumatic line has been disconnected.
