Why is it that in the Olympics, male gymnasts do not have music on the floor exercise and female gymnasts do?

In the Olympics, the female gymnasts dance to music, but the male ones do not. Why is that?

Because it would be g*y if the male gymnasts did their floor exercise to music.

its because the female floor routine is more of a dance routine. male is for the flips and tumbles but female has a sampling of ballet

The women's routine is a combination of tumbles and dance elements while the means is purely tumbles.. so no reason for music
