Why is it that in the past year I get less excited about things. No butterflies and nervousness and sickness!?

Just wondering, I've just turned 18 and up until about 6 months ago I used to get really excited about things and feel sick and have butterflies fluttering around my tummy. This happened especially when I fancied someone, I would feel so sick and nervous and have butterlies darting aorund in my belly but it was kind of a nice feeling. Was just speaking to my friend about it and she said that that also stopped happening to her when she was 16/17. Is this normal? Does it happen to everyone? As we get older do we no longer get the nice/horrible nervousness?

Sorry if it's abit vague or hard to understand!

  1. omg- i didn't realise it happened to others....

i know exactly what u mean by the sick feeling if yr around some1 u like--

some times its like really physical?

I'm 16 tho, i still get it ALOT, but up till now i didn't realise that it went away...

    its pretty strong feelings-

hmmm- maybe its coz we grow up, and mature and influence of different hormones?

and u know. i think it only happens to girls...// what do u think?

  2. Im a boy and this still happens to me at 32 years old.

When its been a few days since Ive seen my wife (we both travel a lot for work) I will have butterflies in anticipation as I am picking her up at the airport or getting of a plane, whatever. We have been married 6 years and I still feel this...?

I will dream about a new food Im going to cook and wake up literally abuzz with excitement about preparing it. I get so jazzed up about food (Ive been cooking professionally for 14 years) sometimes I hyperventilate!

I am also a VERY high energy person and feel like that may have some effect in this.

  3. outta hormones probably

  4. I'm not sure, but it's probably just one of those things that most people grow out of as they grow up.
