  2. It's a long tradition that started in the late 19th century, no other Grand Slam tournament or any tournament at all have an oh-so strict dress code.

  3. Simply put tradition.I am not much of a traditionalist myself, but I do like to see the players all in white. I love Wimbledon !!!

    But in Wimbledon's case its pretty cool.

  6. Wimbledon holds true to tradition in their uniform. In the late 1800s, early women tennis players had started wearing white to mask their perspiration, since, even back then, they cared about image... =0)

  7. Because it's a very old tradition to wear white, and on the finals both men and women have their bags carried for them, the ladies get flowers in the finals. Wimbeldon is the most prestigious grandslam of them all and it prides itself on it traditional ways and honestly that's why when you ask most people what their favorite slam is most of them say Wimbeldon because of the traditions and the classic, elegant customs it does. It's my favorite slam.

    I hope they get a retractable roof already.
